The person who said 'let's look at science': "I don't want to assume, Del, but you're trans, aren't you?"
1) Then don't assume
2) No, you don't have to belong to an ostricised, marginalised group of people in order to stand up for them. FFS.
17yo nephew: what’s the proper word if a man finds another man beautiful?
Me: Um… beautiful?
Him: But than people think i’m gay.
Me: Are you?
Me: Still, the word is “beautiful”.
I find it really strange people struggle with calling anyone beautiful without implying they are sexually attracted to them. I find a huge lot of men and women beautiful without wanting to have sex with them…
Sometimes i thought the problem is in me. But for a while i know it’s the other way around.
PSA for anyone from a defunct instance who still wants to view their archive, and cant because it's all json:
I made a python script that generates a human-readable html page from you're archive that you can open in your browser to view your old posts.
If you've got python installed, just plop it into the archive, run it, and open the new "processed_archive.html" file it makes in your web browser to read your archive!
@fdroidorg what is the SET antifeature? Barcode Scanner (https://f-droid.org/app/com.google.zxing.client.android) seems to have it, but when i click, the web page says this page is not created yet.

Some thoughts on Epiphany Show more
So a week or so ago I said something like "I'm gonna try out a vanilla GNOME experience," (which I did kinda like, mind you) I ended up doing a similar approach when I switched over to elementary, so I've actually been using Epiphany as my default browser.
Aside from the couple of odd websites where it won't work right, most websites work just fine, and Epiphany itself loads up fast. If you're on a GNOME-based desktop, I highly recommend at least giving it a try.
in a meeting and the teamboss said something about how some harvard business recommendation was to make it clear that it was okay to cry at work
i scoffed along with everyone else and then realized that they were scoffing at the idea of emotions and i was scoffing at the idea of how of course the business advice is to say you're permitted to cry rather than recommend working conditions that don't drive people to tears
Hope I'm doing this right and not going too mad on the hashtags :P

"No, I think everything comes from some sort of process, and this house was built by a process built by intelligent agents. I've also studied genetic programming and have seen 'smart' computer programs evolve from simple rules."
